Position the probes
Insert the probes as shown in the manual, then keep the device still while it measures. Clean and care for the probes as instructed.

Read the result in context
Use the displayed value as an indicative reading for the selected food. The result does not certify that a food is safe.
Three modes. Three different questions.
Food readings
Indicative nitrate readings for supported fresh foods. Other salts in a sample can affect the estimate; this is not laboratory analysis.
Water TDS
TDS describes dissolved solids. It does not identify all contaminants or establish whether water is safe to drink.
Background radiation
Use the radiation mode as described in your model’s instructions. It is a separate measurement, not a test of food quality.

Build a consistent record
Place the scale on a firm, level floor and follow the instructions for the foot platform and handgrip. Compare measurements taken under similar conditions. Body-composition results are estimates.
